The Poem 'Enid' is part of the cycle of twelve Poems 'Idylls of the King' by Alfred Tennyson. Published between 1859 and 1885 it retells the legend of King Arthur and his knights.
This large size book is an early edition from 1868 has nine full page illustrations by the famous illustrator Gustave Doré. Wonderful, if you are a fan of Lord Tennyson's poems, illustrated books and knights and Maidens.
Book is in very good condition regarding the age. Gilt text block edges and the blue cloth is richly decorated with gilt ornamental work and gilt text on spine and front board. Illustrations are protected by tissue papers (complete). Some external wear and tears (esp. spine ends and board corners, see photos). Miniscule spotting to few pages otherwise clean and bright.
