Signed first edition, 6th. printing. K. Thienemanns Verlag, Stuttgart 1976. Published in German.
This early printing of Michael Ende's famous millionseller book (translated in many languages) was signed by himself with a dedication to a German art historian and is absolutely scarce to get on the global market.
Michael Ende lived in Rome after struggling with the German critics and avoided the limelight. The book 'Momo' had relatively small print runs in the beginning because the critics did not know how to classify his works properly. After Ende's international breakthrough at the beginning of the eighties the book was sold more then seven million times and translated in more then fifty different languages.
Book is near fine with miniscule rubbing on the bottom edges of the hardcover and almost unread. Signature and dedication of M. Ende on the title page.
Dustjacket is near fine with minor signs of shelfwear to the edges. Now protected with a transparent archival sleeve.
